Who doesn’t like khatta-meetha aloo chaat?
Indian style potato salad recipe is a sweet and salty blend of sliced potatoes and tamarind. Food Tak in this video gives a little twist to your potato salad by topping the dish with some sesame.
The potato salad can be served as an appetizer or can even be served during evening snacks. This salad recipe doesn’t require many ingredients and can be prepared within no time.

1/2 kg baby potatoes, boiled and peeled
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup fresh tamarind paste
1 green chilli, finely chopped
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/4 cup mint leaves, roughly torn
1 tbsp sesame seeds, dry roasted
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp chilli flakes (optional)
1) Boil the washed potatoes with some salt, until tender but not mushy, usually two cooker whistles. Peel while warm and toss with salt and pepper.
2) Mix in the spices, tamarind paste, lemon juice, mint leaves, green chilli and sesame seeds. Add the chilli flakes if required.
3) Toss until all potatoes are well coated. Chill in the refrigerator and serve.
