Moong Dal/Cherupayar Payasam| Kerala Style Dessert Recipe

Ingredients for Moong dal payasam:
1 cup (200g) Mung lentil/ Moong dal
1 cup (150g) Jaggery
1 cup/250 ml Coconut milk
1 cup/250 ml Regular Milk
1 tbsp + 1 tsp Ghee
4 cardamom (elaichi) crushed
Or ½ tsp cardamom powder
¼ tsp dry powder (optional)
1 pinch salt (optional)
¼ cup dry grapes/raisins & almonds,
(Cashews & Coconut slices can be used too)
5 cups (approx.) water
